The group has introduced a new initiative to encourage members to get into the sketching habit by organising some informal gatherings this summer where we can go out and sketch the local surroundings. Some wonderful sketchbooks were displayed, showing many approaches to image making in addition to demonstrating the great variety and purposes that sketchbooks can serve. Sandra Hammer, Tamsin Loveday and Loraine Sherlock gave short talks on how the use of sketchbooks had informed their work. Sharon Noble of Noble Arts was on hand to advise and show members the range of books and drawing materials she sells in her shop.
Salisbury Sketchers has got off to a good start with a session drawing in the market on a Saturday morning.
