Friday Art 2019

A weekly drop-in for SGA members who like to do art in the company of others meeting at Bemerton Methodist Church Hall, Roman Road, Salisbury;  Fridays 2pm to 4.30pm or thereabouts.  £2 including refreshments.

 

June 28th:  Wonky houses.  Bring an old photo of Salisbury or any pre-modern street or habour scene to use as the basis for a caricature. (Gill)

July 5th:  Limited palette.  Choose three colours, one blue, one red/brown, one yellow (+white if relevant) and use to mix and make a picture.  Suggested topic:  Gardens. (Barbara)

July 12th:  Fruit and veg in coloured pencil.  Bring your own if you wish.  Carolyn will provide some.

July 19th:  Collage and paint.  Bring suitable materials e.g. tissue, newspaper, wrapping paper and adhesive. (Gill)

July 26th:  White flowers.  Bringing out the colour by developing the background.  Bring your own if wished.  Some provided. (Barbara)

August no meeting at the hall.  Sketching at Wilton Garden Centre August 9th.  Meeting in the cafe at 2 o’clock.

September 6th:  Choose one brush.  See what you can do with one brush, perhaps larger or smaller than you normally use.  Paint your whole picture with it.  Suggested topic, landscape.  Bring some reference material.  (Barbara)

September 13th:  Exploring Ancient Civilisations.  Make a picture based on images from Egypt, Greece, Rome or any other.  Some reference material will be provided but bring anything you would like to work from.  (Barbara)

September 20th:  Working with marker pens.  Please bring your own and photos or ideas to work from. (Gill)

September 27th:  Concluding our look at secondary colours with purple.  Bring relevant images, perhaps flowers in violet or magenta or sunset clouds or mountain landscapes. (Barbara)

October 4th:  Quirky still life.  Objects from an unusual perspective or angle.  Use your own or some provided. (Carolyn)

October 11th:  Suggesting movement.  Gill will provide some ideas.

October 18th:  Abstracting the landscape. (Carolyn)

October 25th:  Self Portrait.  Any medium.  Bring a mirror with a stand.
