Visit to St Anne’s Gate, The Cathedral Close

This was our first outside location for 2025 so we were hoping that the sunny days of the past few weeks would continue for us. It was not to be however as the weather had changed to cloudy and cooler. But undeterred, ten sketchers gathered together and after finding a suitable place, spent a happy afternoon drawing and painting. Most members chose to depict the ancient archway with its interesting stonework and small tower, whilst some of us were attracted to, and included in their work, the beautiful blossom in a nearby garden.
Our next Sketchers’ meeting will be at Mompesson House on Sunday, May 4th. Names will be required beforehand by April 28th to gain free entry to the event that is part of the National Trust’s Festival of Blossoms.
Then on Sunday, May 18th we are planning to go to Wilton House.
