Cranborne Manor, Dorset, Wednesday, September 2nd
This was a rescheduled trip as the June date was cancelled due to the heatwave. Unfortunately, the weather was unkind to us yet again, although this time we were greeted with cloudy skies and the threat of rain.
Cranborne Manor provides a wealth of subjects for sketchers and after a tour around the grounds, and undaunted by looming grey clouds, we started to sketch at our chosen places. After about an hour, a strong wind brought with it heavy drizzle and we were forced to abandon our efforts and find shelter in the garden centre’s popular cafe. But making the best of a bad situation we spent the rest of our time with art inspired conversation and hearing all about different exhibitions that had been attended by members during the summer.
Maybe next year we will be third time lucky with a trip to Cranborne, and we will be joined by more members.
Thanks to those who joined me this time and made an enjoyable day out.
